At Southern Skin Clinic we use the revolutionary Healite II for our light emitting diode (LED) phototherapy.
This system uses low level light to treat the skin superficially by delivering pure light to the skin, which stimulates your body’s own cellular recovery. LED is able to treat the skin without causing any physical trauma or heat damage meaning it has no associated down time or risks.
It has been scientifically proven to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin to create visibly younger and smoother skin, whilst improving skin tone and texture and skin elasticity.
Healite II can be used for standalone treatments or in a course of treatments to improve many different skin conditions. We also offer LED treatment to clients who have undergone treatment at Southern Skin Clinic to promote healing and enhance results following treatment. It is proven to assist in pain reduction, bruising and swelling that may be experience following treatment.
Clients of all skin types can benefit from LED therapy without risk of complication or downtime.

Near Infrared light helps to accelerate healing, cellular repair and recovery time following aesthetic treatments and improve overall skin health. It is powerful for reducing redness and swelling and can be used as a standalone treatment for wound healing, muscle relief and pain.

633nm - Red Light
Red LED can improve scarring and signs of ageing by acting on the cells in our skin that are responsible for collagen production. As we age our bodies produce less collagen, causing fine lines and wrinkles in the skin and delayed skin healing. By stimulating collagen growth we can promote faster healing, minimise scarring and improve the signs of ageing. Red light can also reduce inflammation in the skin.

415nm - Blue Light
Blue LED reduces activity in the sebaceous glands (small oil producing glands in the skin). The reduction in this activity causes less overall oil production which can improve acne symptoms. Blue light can also help to kill a type of bacteria responsible for acne and inflammation.

FAQ'S
Every new client of Southern Skin Clinic will require a full cosmetic consultation. This consultation will include clinical photography, skin assessment and facial assessment based on your concerns and expectations. Dr Ali and Nurse Tess will then tailor a treatment plan that is specific to you.

The Healite II has a large, adjustable head that can deliver the treatment in many positions for client comfort and to treat many areas of the body.

The treatment area is cleansed and the light positioned. The procedure is comfortable and relaxing and you will feel a warm bright light. The sessions take approximately 10-20 minutes depending on the wavelength, treatment indication and intensity.
